The Kyocera Corporation is a Japanese multinational manufacturer that diversified itself as the company grew over time. Currently, the company manufactured industrial ceramics, solar power generating systems, office document imaging equipment, electronic components, semiconductor packages, cutting tools, components for medical and dental implant systems, and yes, telecommunications equipment. This branch, called Kyocera Communications, Inc., formed Kyocera Wireless Corp., acquired the company Sanyo Electric Co., and is now the sixth largest cell phone company in the world! They still continue to sell various Sanyo-branded phones, but they have also began to manufacture their own phones, providing several phones to U.S. carriers like Sprint (which include Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA, Cricket and several others.
